Closing the studio for holidays and snow days

On the Lessons page, click "Close the studio" (it's also linked from Settings › Tuition & auto-send). Pick the "First day closed", and a "Last day closed" for more than one day (up to 93 days). Add "What for" if you like (families see it, for example "Thanksgiving"), then click "See the lessons it cancels".

LessonPaid lists every lesson on those days, for every student and teacher, including weekly lessons further ahead that aren't on the calendar yet. Keep "Email each family about their cancelled lessons" ticked and click "Close the studio": each family gets one email with your logo listing their cancelled lessons (brothers and sisters together), and replies come to you. During the free trial, up to 25 families a day.

What it means for billing: monthly tuition doesn't change. Per-lesson students aren't billed for the cancelled lessons (cancelled lessons never are). A lesson already on a per-lesson invoice is cancelled too, but the invoice isn't changed: void it and bill the month again to take it off. Lessons that already happened (marked present, or paid in payroll) are left alone. No new weekly lessons are made on those days, even for students you add later, and a cancelled lesson's page says the studio was closed.

Changed plans? Under "Coming up", click "Reopen": the lessons it cancelled that are still to come are back on, and weekly lessons are made again for those days. Families aren't emailed about a reopening, so let them know from Messages. Closures can't overlap: reopen the other one first.

For a long break such as the summer, untick those months under "Tuition months" in Settings › Tuition & auto-send instead.

Names like Settings › Team are menus inside LessonPaid, once you're signed in. Already have an account? Log in. Still stuck? Email hello@lessonpaid.com.
