Card payments on invoices

Once you connect your own Stripe account, parents can pay any unpaid invoice by card, right on the invoice page. The money goes straight to your Stripe account and LessonPaid takes 0%: Stripe's standard card fee comes out of each payment (see stripe.com/pricing). It's available wherever Stripe accepts businesses (see stripe.com/global); if Stripe doesn't support your country yet, keep using a payment link or payment instructions.

Switching it on: the studio owner goes to Settings › Card payments & late fees and clicks "Connect with Stripe", then fills in Stripe's form (about 5 minutes: name, address, date of birth and the bank account to pay you into). Already use Stripe? Sign in there to reuse your details. If Stripe needs a little more, the page says "Setup not finished" (click "Finish Stripe setup") or "Waiting on Stripe" (checking usually takes a few minutes, sometimes a day or two), with "Check again". Card payments are working once the page says "Card payments are on". Only the studio owner can connect Stripe.

What parents see: a "Pay $220.00 by card" button (with the amount they owe) on every unpaid invoice, except a balance under Stripe's minimum charge (50 cents in US dollars), and they can still use your payment link or instructions if they prefer. When a parent pays, the invoice marks itself paid (shown as Paid by card), its reminders stop and you get an email. On a partly paid invoice, the card pays only the balance.

Payments, payouts and refunds are in your Stripe dashboard. After refunding a card payment there, take it off the invoice in LessonPaid too, so your reports stay right (see "Recording payments and part payments").

"Disconnect" on the same page turns the card button off. Your Stripe account, past payments and payouts aren't affected. Late fees are set up on the same page.
