Late fees
Go to Settings › Card payments & late fees and scroll to Late fees. Choose "No late fees", "A flat fee" (up to 1,000 in your currency) or "A percentage of the invoice" (up to 25%), then when to add it: 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 21 or 30 days after the due date. Click "Save late fees". The page shows an example of what a parent would pay.
How it works: the fee is added once, as its own line on the invoice. Only invoices sent after you turn late fees on can get one, so nobody is surprised. Invoice emails, overdue reminders and the invoice page tell parents about the fee before it's added. It's never added to paid invoices, or ones a parent has marked as paid. On a partly paid invoice, a percentage fee is worked out on the remaining balance, and its line says so.
To let a family off, click "Waive fee" on the invoice in Invoices. It won't be added again.
You're responsible for making sure your late fee is allowed where you teach and agreed with families in advance.
