Studio policies families accept

Write your cancellation, makeup and payment rules once and have every family accept them. Go to Settings › Studio policies (the policy box that used to be on the Family portal page lives here now), write them in "Your studio policies", tick "Families must accept these policies" and click "Save studio policies". It's off until you turn it on.

Once it's on:

  • Your registration form (studio page and embedded form) shows the policies in a scroll box, an "I've read and agree to the studio policies" box and "Your full name". The agreement is kept with the registration and saved for the family when you click "Enroll as student".
  • "Ask N families to accept your policies" (Families, on the same page) emails each family a link to a page with your policies, a name box and an "I agree" button. No login. Families who don't accept get at most 2 reminders, a week apart. During the free trial, up to 25 families a day.
  • Invoice and reminder emails get a "Studio policies" link, with "you accepted these on Sep 2, 2026" (or a request to read and accept them).
  • With the family portal on, families can also accept on the portal's Studio tab.

Each student's page shows "Policies accepted (v3) on Sep 2, 2026 by Jane Smith", or "Not accepted yet" with "Ask them to accept" (or "Resend") and "Copy their link". One acceptance covers every child on that parent email. Adult students accept for themselves. After a family leaves, the archived student's page still shows their record (with the words of the version they accepted), and so does "Families who've left" on the Studio policies page.

Changing your policies saves a new version: "Version history" shows every version, word for word, and none is ever edited. Families who accepted an earlier one show as "Accepted an older version", and you can ask them to accept the new one.

Lessons never stop because a family hasn't accepted. What LessonPaid keeps is a record of agreement: the family's email, the name they typed, the version, the date and time, where they agreed, their browser and a scrambled copy of their internet address. It isn't a legally binding contract, and LessonPaid doesn't give legal advice. Records are kept even if you close your account.

Names like Settings › Team are menus inside LessonPaid, once you're signed in. Already have an account? Log in. Still stuck? Email hello@lessonpaid.com.
