The family portal

The family portal lets parents see their children's lessons, notes, files and invoices online. It's off until you turn it on: Settings › Family portal, tick "Turn on the family portal", then "Save portal settings".

Parents sign in with the email you have on file for them: they enter it and get a one-time sign-in link (it works for 60 minutes). No password and no app, and they stay signed in for up to 60 days.

What families see (tabs Overview, Lessons, Files, Invoices, Calendar and Studio, plus Makeups with Settings › Makeup rules on): upcoming lessons for the next 8 weeks; past lessons with the notes and practice you wrote for the family; files you marked "Shared with family"; their invoices, with a link to view and pay each one; a calendar link for their phone; and your studio's name, logo, email and policies. Never private notes, progress ratings or private files. Only their own children, and only active students with that parent email. Siblings under one email appear together.

Inviting families: on the same page, "Email an invite to N families" sends one branded email per parent address, skipping families who've signed in, were invited in the last 2 weeks or unsubscribed. Or copy "Your family portal link" to share yourself, or use "Email portal invite" on a student's page. During the free trial, up to 25 families a day.

Once it's on, invoice, reminder and lesson-notes emails include a "See this in your family portal" link. Families can also cancel lessons online if you allow it (see "Letting families cancel lessons online").
