Getting started: your first-day checklist

Signing up takes a minute: on lessonpaid.com click "Start free" (or "Start free for 14 days"), enter your email and click the sign-in link we send (it works for 30 minutes). There's no password and no card. You get 14 days free.

Your first-day checklist (the Lessons page shows the first steps until you add a student):

• Settings: fill in Your name, Studio name (parents see it on every email and invoice), Time zone and Currency (USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, NZD, AED, PKR, INR or SGD). Then "How parents pay you" (a Payment link and/or Payment instructions) and "Invoices due after". Click "Save and add students".
• Students: click "+ Add student", or "Import from TutorBird / spreadsheet" to bring everyone over at once. Give each student a price per lesson and a weekly lesson day and time, and their weekly lessons appear on the Lessons page automatically.
• Check Settings › Automatic reminders. "Lesson reminders" and "Overdue payment follow-ups" are on by default.
• Invoices: under "Bill a month", check the month's lessons and click "Email N invoices to parents".

Optional extras, all under Settings › More settings: Tuition & auto-send (invoices that go out by themselves, and monthly tuition months), Charges & discounts (saved fees and discounts for invoices), Makeup rules (makeup credits and makeup times families book), Branding & emails (logo, color, email wording), Family portal, Studio policies (families accept them, and your notice period), Online lessons (your video link), Team (tutors and admins), Calendar sync, and Card payments & late fees. Your free studio web page is under Website in the top menu.

Prefer not to do it yourself? Email your student list in any format to hello@lessonpaid.com. Done-for-you setup is part of the Founding Studio Pass, and anyone who gets stuck importing can email their file.

LessonPaid runs in any web browser, on a computer or a phone. There's nothing to download. Changing your time zone later keeps every lesson at the same local time.
